Since 1997, the IVBC works on conservation teaching yard abroad, in particolar in the HolyLand : some conservation intervention has been realized in the Sant’Elena Chapel (Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem), on the Crosader wall of the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, at the Chapel of the Invention of the Cross in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalm. All conservation interventions have been performed in accordance with local Institutions. Were entered into agreements with the Nazareth Municipality, with the Restoration Committee of Al-Aqsa Mosque & Dome of the Rock, with the Custody of the Holy Land, the Conservation Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority. Has been establishing a collaboration for research projects, particularly in the city of Acre.
In 2006, the IVBC has been calling in Sana’a, Yemen, by the Social Fund for Development, the government agency that oversees development interventions, education, protection of historic and artistic heritage of the country, to train young people in the conservation field. It has been activating an educational program aimed to the conservation of two great monuments : the Jami Al-Kabir in Sana’a, the largest and oldest mosque in the Islamic word and the Al-Ashrafiyya Mosque in Taiz’z. The aims of the project are to create a National Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
